About Pharmacy First (PF+)

NHS Pharmacy First Scotland is a service that allows people to get expert healthcare advice and treatment for minor ailments and common conditions, such as sore throats, earaches, and urinary tract infections (UTIs), directly from their local community pharmacy. This initiative aims to reduce the need for GP visits or trips to the Accident and Emergency Department for non-urgent issues.

The service is available to anyone registered with a GP in Scotland or who lives in Scotland, including care home residents, homeless people, and gypsy travellers. However, visitors to Scotland are not eligible, although they can still receive general advice from pharmacists.

Pharmacists can provide consultations, offer advice, recommend treatments, or refer patients to other healthcare services if neede
